After enduring unspeakable horrors at the hands of ISIS, this was the first time in 5 years that those in that long suffering city have been able to celebrate Christmas

2 Speaking of things Mideastern, does anybody know why Micronesia, Palau, and Nauru of .nu fame were so supportive of the US position in the "Israel's capital is not Jerusalem" UN vote, when almost everybody else was abstaining or voting Yes?

I just keep thinking that there has to be a story there.

3 is, I believe based in Niue not Naru.  All are former U.S. trust territories and are still covered by U.S. defense agreements. I strongly suspect that they use Israeli water purification technology as well.

5 It wasn't ISIS in Aleppo, it was other rebels. most of the suffering was due to the Assad regime's bombing.
