Asking The Important Questions

What would you do if you could change one thing about the past; if you could undo one action (or inaction) that had precipitated a cruelty that's caused heartbreak and torment all the days since then?

Would such a miracle, picking at that central thread of a person's life, unravel the tapestry of events that created who that person is (or was)?

Or would it be awesome....with a giant robot fighting for justice...

What if the only sane person you regularly interact with is your evil nemesis, the the leader of the magical autism squad?

What's it like in hell anyway?

Flip Flappers....I've got no idea what this series is about. But, I'm going with this for now...

This show is cute, it's whimsical, it's high-octane nightmare fuel and it is brilliantly put together.

It is also blazing new trails in the fashion and technology of legwear.

It is NOT however, a reliable, peer reviewed source of information on rabbit anatomy.

Does Anyone Know...

...what this picture represents?

It was picture for the headline at Drudge yesterday which concerned Hillary effectively withdrawing her concession and going with recounts in multiple states. I am struggling to find the connection.

...but I fear that I will fear what I might find out if I investigate too closely.

(This comes via Ace's sidebar, which caused me to click on it thinking that it was surely some tortured analogy for what was likely a political story. Alas...)

Your Weekly Stupid

President elect Trump has not given the impression that he has any sort of coherent philosophical vision beyond trolling, but he does seem to be interested in reform, if only out of spite. At the happy intersection of spitefulness and reform, he seems to have made the decision to cut the earth observation budget and focus NASA on...get this...space exploration!

I do not immediately despise this plan, especially since this will free up around 10% of NASA's budget to focus on exploration and space operations, combined with the proposed cancelling of SLS and Orion, this could potentially free up 40% of NASA's budget for such things.

This would allow a major increase in efforts to utilize space resources (ie: mining asteroids), and move towards space settlement.

There Are Those Who Believe...

...that because the menace of monkeys that is portrayed in the previous post's embedded video is, somewhat exaggerated,  that it follows that monkeys are harmless.

This is a fallacy.

To wit.

According to residents and local reports, the latest bout of violence erupted between two tribes after an incident in which a monkey that belonged to a shopkeeper from the Gaddadfa tribe attacked a group of schoolgirls who were passing by.

The result of this was at least 16 dead and 50 injured. (HT: Ace)

So, please be aware, gentle readers, that monkeys, are in fact, serious business.

Come to think of it, this awful year might be explained by that fact.

Memorial Cheesecake

The late Steven DenBeste is deconstructing idiocies in another realm. Given his tendency to post cheesecake,Wonderduck suggested that we all post some in remembrance.

He was far more sanguine about Trump than I am and one hopes he is on some other plane taking some satisfaction from the weeks events. So, in the sincere hope that he was right about our president elect, and in acknowledgement of the surprising events of Tuesday, the and my own character flaws, we here at Brickmuppet Blog present you with topical cheesecake...

A Few Quick Thoughts on this Mornings Upset

I was pleasantly impressed with Trump's magnanimous acceptance speech, which has, at least for a time, tempered the very mixed emotions I had voting for him.

In fairness, I was also pleasantly surprised with Madame Secretary's prompt and congenial concession.

The U.K. Independent, which is certainly NOT on the Trump train, has some surprisingly reassuring thoughts.

Sarah Hoyt, who, like me held her nose tightly and voted for the fellow, has some very somber thoughts that deserve to be read in full.

(Update: Kelly Anne Conway really is the acme of political consultants.)

I should note that as much as we here at Brickmuppet Blog disagree with President Obama, when he was elected, we  did not mock him and we defended or spoke up on his behalf on those rare occasions he did something we thought to be good, proper, sensible or at least defense-able

So we can only react with mockery to this.

"Mock mock mockety mock."

A lot of people are worried. Even many of us that voted for him believe that Trump warrants considerable vigilance. Rest assured though that the press will provide that oversight with verve and a sense of urgency in exactly the same way that they wouldn't have for his opponent.

So lighten up.

Finally,

Takumi Yanai's work may not be the only evidence of time travel....
