Well: THAT Sucked.
I've missed 2 days of work, I've not streamed since Wednesday.
I've been under the weather for just under a week. I actually cut my stream short on Wednesday because I started feeling ....off. I was better Thursday, but began feeling ill after my bachelor Thanksgiving.
.....but I have an excuse!
I was in the hospital.

Friday, (BLACK FRIDAY) I called in as I felt nauseous, weak and had difficulty standing any length of time. I developed a fever and only got worse through the day. Friday night I determined that I would NOT be going to work. Calling in this time of year is not a good career move, so after some trepidation I resolved to get medical attention.
As it was approaching midnight, I went to the hospital and got seen fairly quickly.
It turns out that I have a nasty Kidney infection. By happy coincidence, I had gotten my labs done for my annual physical LAST WEEK at the same location. Thus they could compare my blood work and urinalysis to that draw (which had been quite good). The kidney infection was so severe that it was already degrading my kidney function, and if I'd waited to go in I might well have suffered renal failure.
After several hours hooked up to an antibiotic IV, I was released with a prescription for 4x a day antibiotics and given a tentative return to work note for Monday. I'm still weak, and had difficulty standing in line at the pharmacy to pick up my prescription.
While still a bit wiped I do feel significantly better than I did.
UTI's and occasionally kidney infections are a potential problem when one has chronic kidney stones and this is not the first time I've had one, but this put me down in a way I have not been down since my stroke. Even the bout of sepsis did not render me as weak as this did.
I'm really glad I went to the hospital.
