Tomorrow!

I really hope this release is successful. I'm actually pulling for ZOMBIE ADV Sentai Filmworks, but in a larger sense, I suspect that sales of this show (which given buzz and subject ought to be a runaway hit) are going to be very closely scrutinized with regards to the future viability of the R-1 Market. In other words, if this isn't a hit the viability of companies like  Sentai, Funimation and the others might be dubious indeed.

1 If this is a hit in the R-1 Market, something is wrong with the R-1 Market. The high level of "Fan (Dis)Service" is extremely embarrassing. It would have been a much better show without all the T&A.

"Runaway hit" is, perhaps, a relative term. I don't expect this to do all that well, simply because it isn't very good.

But I don't know what other title has come out recently that I think could become a runaway hit. At this point the North American market is pretty static (and pretty small) and there are few, if any, opportunities for titles to break out into the larger market.

"Summer Wars" is the last title I think really had a chance of that, but even it didn't succeed.

3 What little I've seen strikes me as over the top but ought to appeal mightily to the majority of fans who are younger and have rather more vulgar tastes than those of us who thought Lum was... stacked.

It will likely appeal to me too because....well...I'm just a bad person.

4 Obviously you're going to have to post pictures.

5 Huh.  I thought HSotD was pretty fun, actually... and my copy arrived on Monday.  It's no more over-the-top than most horror films, and while the fanservice is (ahem) all over the place, it's a lot like Divergence Eve in that you stop noticing it eventually.

Except in ep06 when it's shoved in your face.

If you like zombie films or World War Z, I highly recommend HSotD
