As the adoptive father of two human* orphans I have to take Koragi's side on this. If that makes me a Species Supremacist, so be it.

It's been years since I last read the book, but I don't remember any of that. This may be another case where the moviemakers need to be hanged.

@Don: I'm pretty sure it is just a comment on the movie.
Koragi's a little young to have much experience with analog-non-binary-unpowered-flip-accessed text-based media.

Originally, Stuart Little being a mouse was somewhat of an analogy to being adopted by people of a different ethnicity or race, and hence being a fish out of water.
But this seems to be unmentionable. And to be fair, E.B. White played it straight, just like the Paddington Bear books by Michael Bond. It is just a world with anthropomorphic animals.
