Can't Lift Arms...Over Head

Banality skulks bitterly below the fold.

I have nothing in the way of compensation today, but here is a quote from Hayek which may impart some wisdom.

Well it turns out that 3 months of Hospitalizations, surgeries, and bedrest are, in fact, a suboptimal training regimen for a job that requires lifting boxes up to 70 pounds over one's head 21 times a minute.

I r sore.

Fortuitously, this morning was light and management sent some folks home early. Although I needed the money (BADLY) I took them up on their offer and got home about 9 hours ago.

I just woke up.

I don't hurt as much as I did this morning, but I'm stiff.
I HAVE made it through 3 days of this so I think I'll be alright.

In a welcome development I have to go in super early tomorrow to do some OSHA and general safety work so I'll partially make up for today's indulgence at the expense of tonight's Zomboid stream.

In other news, and in a frankly unexpected development, my disability check (for being out 3 months due to surgery) was approved, despite my not being on "the stack" and this situation not being a work related injury or illness.

Tuesday, I went down to the Credit Union to get it deposited and thereby expedite the payments on all these medical bills.

The check bounced.

I was astonished....the Credit Union was astonished (It's a reputable bank) The company I work for was astonished. The union was astonished. However, no one knows how to fix this. At one point I went through 3 iterations of "WTF...This has NEVER happened. I've gotta get my supervisor!"

One theory is that the amount triggered a software hold that was meant to catch violations of some counter-terrorism legislation from 2011 or so.

The check is on a 7 day hold now and if it does not clear next Tuesday, then I'll probably be cut a new check.

I was not without a safety net but 3 months of no work coupled with surgery bills is a tough financial hit, so if I can get  the check it will be most welcome. If not, I'm already back to work, so everything will work out.
