Besides the hand-washing, one should familiarize oneself with PPE, its proper use of protective equipment and ideas for extemporization in a pinch. .
If one does not have the resources for the full sealed full protection then an N-95 rated mask is the only way to filter viral particles out of the air with a reasonable expectation of safety.

Actually, eyes should be covered with, full goggles or a diving mask. Glasses do nothing against viruses.
Indeed. One should not fixate upon masks as other types of PPE are also important.

For example: scarves are a good idea.
Use whatever you have and stay indoors alone as much as possible. However, extemporization will only go so far.
