Short Vacation

Last year, I worked through my vacation. After the Christmas rush was over, I asked if I could use one of the weeks to add to this week and my manager said yes, so YAY!
However, I spent last week, sick, sufficiently sick that I got a COVID test. When it came back negative, I realized that having been in quarantine, and being certified 'rona-free, with symptoms gone I was actually safe to see my parents for the first time since April.
So, Tuesday, I made the 4 hour drive down to see them in the internet free world that is their house in the woods.
...and deliver their presents. They're doing well. However, Wednesday, I got a call from my doctor informing me that the appointment I'd been trying get for months could be worked in today, or on the 22nd of February.
Soooo...
Visit cut short.
But I did get to see them, which was a big deal after 8 months. I was also relieved to hear that they've got an appointment for their vaccination next week.
On the way back my heater went out, which is an annoyance, but I've got to get the van inspected this month anyway.
