Meanwhile, Down at the Viking Burger...

Art by Ueyama Michirou whose fine stuff can be bought here.

I dunno either but the unrelated picture is rather more pleasant than the banality that lurks below the fold.

*****************************

I had to drop several classes this semester because I missed over six weeks of school due to flu, pneumonia surgery and the car breaking down once.

The big concern was Japanese, which is a six credit course and is also a hard prerequisite for the next course...which is only offered once a year.

I talked to the instructor about auditing and testing into the next course via the exam. He agreed given my large amounts of documentation and the "A"s and "B"s on the little bit of work I had turned in....and the hundred on the midterm.

In the last week or so I realized I actually had fallen farther behind than I'd though and so I've been cramming frantically for the exam, which I did in fact do quite well on.

UN-fortunately it turns out that adjunct professors can't just switch students to "audit" at the last minute anymore. So...on exam day I was informed that to stand a snowballs chance in a blast furnace of passing the course I'd need to do all 14 of the homework assignments and make up the quizes I'd missed...by Tuesday. I had to buy a new workbook. With the workbook, textbook assignments and letters this amounted to about 43 pages of work,  some of which I completely deleted on Sunday via WORD. So I just wrote it all with a pencil after that.

Well, I actually had to call in to work this morning and as I did not lie about my reason I'm gonna likely get talked at tomorrow. I haven't slept since 7:50 Sunday morning aside from a 2 hour nap in the car....but I got it all done!  On the way to the building the professor called and asked how much I'd gotten done. I told him that I'd done all of it as assigned, and his response was "REALLY!?  You did ALL of that in 4 days?"

I wasn't aware it was OPTIONAL...in fact, thanks to my weak MSWord-Fu I did a good bit of it twice.

In any event, with my non-sucky exam grades I'm tentatively optimistic.

Now I'm going go collapse before and going to work in 6 hours.

Oh and SCHOOL'S OUT!

1 Glad to hear it, and good luck on your grades!  Get a good night's sleep and settle things at your day job.

Once that's done, we expect to be entertained.  After all, that's what we're paying you for...  What do you mean you never got the check?

3 I spent a merry hour paging through Ueyama's blog, collecting some very nice pictures of miniskirted pirates, alien cat girls, a certain robotic maid, and some aptly-described SAOppai. His various attempts at detailed muscular definition didn't work for me, but the soft-and-cuddly stuff was quite pleasant. Catgirl Chiaki for the win.

4 You got me curious, so I just took a look. I saw Mahoro, a couple of girls from Dog Days, and some girls from Senran Kagura.

5 Also Quartz Christie, from Mouretsu Pirates.
