Intermission Interlude

Beware! Banality skulks about below the fold...

As compensation for this transgression,  here is a GMV for unlucky but positive people.

Song: Undead by Yoasobi Footage: Zenless Zone Zero

Well, I'm back, for now.

My last surgery is on the 27th next Friday. I will be able to work 4 days next week, which will bring my total days worked this year to....4.

I will most definitely NOT be retiring in February as planned.

On the other hand, now that the pain of the surgery has subsided this is the first time in 2 months that I have NOT been in severe pain. I had not realized HOW much pain I was in, since it was normal before. Movements that would have been excruciating before are painless now. I still have pain on the right side (a huge and spiky stone has grown into the kidney tissue and occasionally "catches") but I'm feeling much better than I was.

When the surgeon came out to speak with me post-op, he was visibly shaken. the surgery went on much longer than anticipated and was beset by a few complications. The sheer number of stones seemed to surprise him, (I gather that several had been obscured by others in the X-ray.) and he felt obliged to get a particularly big stone that was stuck in the tube on the right side, which was not scheduled. I'm grateful that he did because THAT stone had been the most painful that I have ever had.

Recovery was rough, and I am still having bouts of bleeding from time to time, but I am back home, have internet, reliable cell service and am sleeping in my own bed.

Until next Friday, when I do the whole thing again. This SHOULD be a much easier recovery since a fair bit of prep work for that surgery was done during the procedure on the 6th. I should be back to work two -3 weeks after the procedure on the 27th and can now set about getting out of the medical bill hole.

Anyway, life will be rather hectic over the next 10 days, but I do plan to stream and post, at least this week. There will, again, be a 2-3 week hiatus starting next Friday, but if the relief I currently feel is any indication, I should bounce back fairly quickly.

Than you all for the kind words and the readership. I am truly humbled by both.
