A Few Whitmerisms

Tenditious political dreadfulness exists below the fold, so here is something completely not dreadful from Kaitan

You, gentle readers, may or may not have heard about the terrible dam breaks in Michigan the other day.  Well, it is being reported that the dam owner had recently been locked in a legal battle with the state of Michigan for releasing water when the water level got too high, due to environmental concerns regarding the well being of freshwater shellfish that lived in the dam's reservoir.

Boyce says it asked EGLE for permission to lower Wixom Lake last fall "due to concern for the safety of its operators and the downstream community.” EGLE and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources denied the request. Boyce lowered the lake without approval in mid-November "believing its safety concerns were paramount.”

The company lost its license to generate hydro-electric power because of this and complaints from people in the neighborhoods on the reservoir that the larger than normal November release of water in anticipation of a storm, (8 feet vs the usual 3 feet ) left an unsightly muddy patch and temporarily stranded their boats. No doubt many brachiopods died too...oh the regret.

Governor Whitmer, true to form, is using this catastrophe as a springboard to push for the seizing of all critical infrastructure in private hands.

In other news, Governor Whitmer has kept gay swingers clubs open during the current unpleasantness while prosecuting barbers. While the existence of such clubs is not an issue in and of itself in a free society, if there was any establishment that needed to be shut down during a pandemic, in a sane world orgy clubs of any stripe would be at the top of the list.

Shorter version, Governor Whitmer is a totalitarian, clam-fetishising bug chaser.

She's worse than that though. Despite the bloodbath that has befallen New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in their nursing homes where infected paitents were sent to nursing homes despite space being available elswhere...Whitmer having seen what happened there and learned from that tragedy, Governor Whitmer has decided that, well, she want's some of that too

That's top writing.  I am so stealing that and slipping it in somewhere in my next novel.
