Midori Kanda and Friends

Sadly, no...There is no Gai Rei series.

There is, however, a particularly awesome group of cosplayers....

Siergen, this one's for you.

Also, I finally figured out how to use fancy Kanji fonts in Paintbrush.
For the sake of posterity the original post is below the fold.
For legal purposes this was all Wonderduck's fault.*
I hope April is good to you all.

*That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Wonderduck inquired last night about the new GaiRei anime he had heard was upcoming..(But wasn't mentioned in any of the season previews).

I certainly had no idea what he was talking about but I really liked Gai Rei Zero, so last night while looking for info on the New Yamato Series I searched some Japanese sites
and found out why its not listed at Sea-Slugs and Arudoc.

It's Live action.

But that's not all.

It appears that they are doing the series from the beginning...ie they are starting with a live action adaptation of Gai Rei Zero. This is surprising but it could work. GRZ ends with the beginning of the Manga.

Here are a few pics from the link. No pics of monsters yet though.

This is interesting. It certainly has that Japanese live action aesthetic. I'll be interested in how well they pull it off. TsukeBanDeka worked, but in a different way. I don't think this one is going to go for snarky laughs. The time slot is odd too, despite being a late night show, they seem in these few pics to be pretty demure.

UPDATE: Wonderduck has thoughts here.

2 There is one too many Pocky sticks in that picture for the number of girls eating them...
