I Don't Even....Stella∞ has been a surprisingly pleasant and even interesting show about sportsmanship, honor and the profound difficulty of truly changing oneself for the better.
Today's episode.....OK THAT was odd.
I concur with this young ladies sentiment regards this matter.
In every episode thus far Yura has had these anxiety attacks during the mock battles where she sees herself as being in actual combat. Twice this has involved getting overrun by Matilda tanks.
This episode strongly implies that those aren't just fantasies. There may actually be something psychic going on.
It looks for a bit like Yura's seeing ghosts or something.
But then it gets seriously weird...when Kirishima blunders into woodblock print land and witnesses Yura take out the arrow with the scorpion.

I don't think Yura knows what Kirishima saw. In any event, Kirishima being involved in this takes it to a whole new level of freaky. Kirishima is a bit of a cloud cuckoo lander herself but even she seems taken aback by the little fluttery bits of ectoplasmic confetti that Yura brushes aside at the end of the episode...that only she can see.
This may be a one off digression and it would make sense as such given
Yuras personal journey...but Kirishima's involvement makes that rather
less likely.
On a less metaphysical note there was the revelation that Sonora's 'senpai' in paintball/survival games was a US Marine...who died recently in the line of duty. This was the same guy who was teaching her how to make riceballs in episode 2. He's ALSO the fellow who gave Sonora the gun....the named gun named after the ghost no one but Yura knew the name of.
So even that was freaky.
I'm mildly appalled, but I'm really intrigued as to where they are going with this.

How much do you want to bet that Sono met her "master" in her fantasy universe? I postulated in Steven's comments that he probably never existed, but on the second thought, he probably did. Heck they might've met at one of the shoots in America, you know maybe at a PSA or even CMP match. However, their earlier meeting was in a Japanese setting, clearly.
So that's 3 of them, that leaves 3 more. There might be a hint about them if we rewatch closer.
