Early Christmas Present.
Sometimes, I want to ask Santa Clause or one of his surrogates two questions.
1: Was I somehow...bad?
2: If so, why does a lump of coal not suffice?
...Well there you go.
So, yesterday I was at the school working on the finishing touches to the first of three papers I have looming. After several hours sitting in front of the monitor I got up and ran to the restroom, whereupon I was all like...
..."Oh, look, Christmassy"
and then I was like...
"Wait. That's me...THERE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE BLOOD!"
Ghah!
I returned to my chair, quickly brought the paper to a close, E-mailed it to my instructor with an explanation of why I would not be in class, and left intending to go to my doctor. There was a slight change of plans as I ended up instead sitting in traffic for over two hours by which time only the emergency room was open. After sitting in the emergency room through the night I left this morning with a diagnosis of acute hemorrhagic cystitis.
That word "hemorrhagic"....that's one of those words one hears on the Discovery channel right before one says "Boy, I'm glad I don't have that!"
Anyway...I'm on serious antibiotics right now, but I'm OK. I actually wrapped up my paper properly and turned it in finished and everything!
I also won't be surfing the cardboard tsunami at UPS tonight, so it's not altogether bad.

My reading comprehension skills are a little slow today; the full significance of the word "restroom" didn't click for me until I looked up acute hemorrhagic cystitis on webmd.com. Eee-yikes!
Before I go to bed tonight, I'm going to have a few words with The Big Guy Upstairs about all the crap you've had to deal with lately. "Don't You think the Brickmuppet's suffered enough?" will be some of those words.
