Oh Noes! Moar Politiks!
McCain is catching a bounce.
Rand Simberg links to this story that, while not really surprising, is certainly worrisome.
Eww...
It should be noted that as worrisome as he is on this and other issues, Obama is not his supporters. He did, for instance, have the good sense to try to reign them in when they went on their frenzied green pea soup spewing hate fest against a successful woman who is "not of the body". While Governor Palin is an engaging, inspiring and interesting candidate, she probably would not have been the game changer she seems to have been if not for the attention and venom focused on her. There is more on that here, from the Guardian of all places. via
Via Baldilocks comes this fairly comprehensive list of the true the false and the crazy in Palin rumors.
The Anchoress has two big link heavy roundups on the politics of the week here and here, both are informative and interesting.
There is a lot of angst about the fact that Oprah is not going to interview Sarah Palin because she is supporting Obama. Being a right wing wacko, I do not support the Fairness Doctrine in any form and think that she is fully within her rights to interview whoever she damn well pleases. Its a free country, so chill guys.
Heh....
Cartoon via the "Moderate" Voice where Joe Gandelman opines on this issue here.
Palin Palin Paaaalin.....Obama seems very worried about The Alaska Governor...it is like he is in an intense dogfight with her and she's inside his six....but she is not his opponent, McCain is!What sort of strategic and tactical sense is this brain trust displaying by being gamed this way.
Look here and here posts on the actual Republican Nominee.
Hopefully there will soon be a discussion of actual issues rather than tactics, and personalities.....
I know...but I'm an optimist.

While 82% of voters who support McCain believe the justices should rule on what is in the Constitution, just 29% of Barack Obama's supporters agree. Just 11% of McCain supporters say judges should rule based on the judge's sense of fairness, while nearly half (49%) of Obama supporters agree.

I quite agree about Oprah. It's her program and she can ignore or exclude whoever she feels like. Of course, her viewers are free to switch off her program and cancel their subscriptions to "O" magazine as they see fit.
