UPDATE: In the comments Jonathan Tappan points out that this is almost certainly a hoax as a Google image search for "Cat Possum" produces several versions....or perhaps the stupid is just that widespread.

This one has to be a hoax. It's too similar to this one from last year:

Anyway if someone didn't recognize a possum, why would he or she assume it was a cat, as opposed to a giant rat?

Yeah, a Google image search shows at least 3 versions, one in Australia.
