While The Nutbars Keep Focusing on the Jews...
...the REAL conspiracy reveals itself to be a plot by orange(?) loudmouth New Yorkers with strange hair to take over world leadership positions.
Everything is crazy.
I'm rather more OK with this crazy than most.
Quick Status Update
As I type this, I'm in the University Library working on a research paper.
Below the fold is a quick status update. For those justifiably not interested in such banality, here is evidence that Hollywood doesn't value diversity so much as they hate the Irish.
Gracious! It's Just Like an Isekai Show
Oh good. My login works in this universe. Fancy that.
So. Due to automotive problems and some ill-considered decisions, I have, for the last four days, been in a North Carolina swamp with spotty cell-phone connectivity and no internet whatsoever.
Today, after returning "home" I've discovered that I've returned not to my home, but someplace....else.
It's a dystopian alternate universe where Facebook is actually issuing its own online currency with the backing of multinational corporations, some of whom have a reputation of freezing the bank accounts of people they find politically suspect. This will make the Chinese Sesame Credit System a reality throughout the U.S.A. and the world...like it's some Walter John Williams novel.
In this dark reflection of my world, the news media is CREDULOUSLY reporting that cellphones are causing young people to grow horns out of their heads. Weekly World News must not exist in this universe...(checks Wikipedia)....aaand it went out of business here in 2007.
On the one hand "Yay! Draphs!" on the other hand....Bullshit. Surely it's bullshit? (does a modicum of checking) Yes it's bullshit.
In THIS reality the anti-war left is catatonic with rage that Trump...did...not...start a full blown war...
This grimdark science fiction novel has the poorly written, mustache-twirling, cruel and decadent aristocrats in the cities cutting off power to those in the rural areas just as the hottest days of the years approach...no doubt to maximize the impact of loosing refrigeration, air conditioning and access to home medical equipment.
In this sequel to Harrison Bergeron a beautiful, strong, competent, independent, heroic, mixed-race woman was forced to get a partial mastectomy because the Handicapper General demanded it so that the woman would meet approved global beauty standards.
Akshually that last paragraph consists mostly of snark as the non-story is not, in itself, of any importance...This most inconsequential of udder utter non-issues only becomes an issue because the media in this Orwellian Hellscape I find myself trapped in is, for some reason, literally trying to tell us that this non-event is not happening and that the new design has exactly the same bra size as the old...we're not seeing what we're seeing because 2+2=5.
The actual character design of this Tifa cosplayer is gorgeous (a 9/10 or better if one needs a numerical representation), it's like the Megacorps of this alternate world are hyping largely non-existent outrage in order to distract from the fact that the game is being released in 3 to 5 separate games, over years, looks very much like it may have pay to win issues, will be entirely online and fully embraces the media-as-a-service cancer to the extent that no one will ever really be able to own their game and will always be at risk for loosing it if one crosses the ever changing threshold on speech standards.
So. I find myself trapped in an alternate, and slightly crazier world
However, this worlds version of my blog (curiously) is unchanged.
Perhaps this isn't really an isekai situation.
After all. All those years of wasting my life on comic books, video games and playing D&D didn't prepare me for squat in this place..
Begun These Cheesecake Wars HaveJ. Greely decided to post a bunch of visually interesting not entirely canonical depictions of various characters from Girls Frontline a Chinese gacha game that is focused on anthropomorphizations of various modern and historical firearms.
Mr. Greely is to be commended on the quality of his cheesecake.

I should embed a You-Tube video just to make this post the ultimate browser stress test.

Nah, I can prevent autoplay for video; animated GIFs are much more stressful, especially when embedded without height/width tags, forcing the page layout to keep resizing until all 137 megabytes have loaded. I had to wait out the whole thing before I could get to the comment box.

Wow, they even have an FN49/SAFN. Also, what is that thing that drops the hair ornament? I think she occurs twice, actually. The bullpup does not look like any of the conventional ones like Tavor, and reminds me of Kel-Tec RDB, which wasn't accepted into inventory of any nation's military, AFAIK.

Pete, I think it's a Kel-Tec RFB, based on a quick search. The RFB has the hole in the stock with the diagonal through it.

Yeah, sorry. I did mean the RFB, because the magazine was straight. RDB uses STANAG/USGI magazines, which are longer and curved. Just thinkoed it.

That's RFB, yeah.

You wanna hear something mildly funny? I found the gun by Googling something like "bullpup rifle with the diagonal hole in the stock".

Algorithms: They Take You To....Places
While trying to confirm a rumor that Sargon of Akkad had been arrested*, I blundered onto this. 59 minutes and six seconds later, I feel that I am now dumber than I have ever been.
It starts off innocently enough, with retarded claims about the precision of the geometry of the Giza Pyramids. Then our humble Gumby presenter starts name dropping Thoth. By 7:27 he's claiming that Jews are space aliens who were visiting Atlantis when things went pear shaped but that's not important or germane to THIS discussion because all our problems seem to stem from the Martian Patriarchy and the misconception that Satan is bad. Zecharia Sitchin, Edgar Casey, and Nostradamus have all been mentioned by 13:26. It goes on at an AMAZING pace explaining how the 12 dimensional properties of spacetime and the electromagnetic properties of ley lines are demonstrated and proven by the "hundredth monkey" phenomenon. The video goes on, laying out in excruciating and utterly contradictory detail a grand unified field theory of derp that (naturally enough) includes tantric inter-dimensional sex meditations.
So: What is the takeaway from all this?
The world is stupid and getting stupider.
I suspect that my use of the word "Akkad" in a search is what brought me to this surfeit of Fortean numbnuttery.
Believe It or Not
It appears that after getting inadvertently "outed" on the air about a month ago, and not being seen or spoken of since, the individual we shall refer to here as Trappy McTrap Cat was NOT kicked off the show, but has merely had a scheduling conflict and today responded to the polite and supportive expressions of concern left in the You Tube comments.
What makes this story particularly hard to believe is the notion of polite and supportive You Tube comments.
In Which We Do Some Fact Checking
Remember. If you want to you can always just "Google it." Oh.
Google search is hiding auto-completed text related to the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis.
Well, we here at Brickmuppet Blog figured this would be not just prudent but easy to fact check, so as of 22:18 EST we found that while the autofill function produced almost the same results as claimed, the algorithms had, apparently been tweaked...slightly.
Oh dear.
Fortunately, after about three clicks of further digital gumshoeing, it appears that that first result is just a meme and not an actual product like these.
Now this almost certainly won't stand up in a court of law. However, to regain control of one's IP one has to hire a lawyer. This, of course, is beyond the means of many who's IP will get looted like this. Which, is, of course the point.
While it's an interesting discussion, describing the disturbing decline and degeneration of Discord, I do not necessarily recommend listening to today's episode. It goes into dreadful places. For instance, I could have lived a full, happy, and productive life never having had explained to me what the actual hell cubbycon meant and now that path of pleasant innocence is forever closed to me.

I've pretty much seen the same language on most sites that accept user content, basically saying they need you to grant them the right to serve your content. And that included modifying it (Shrinking or expanding it to fit the page format) and if they sell out, they don't have to delete your content.
And every site had a wave of people who finally read the TOS years later and are all "OMG, The Service is going to steal all my Sonic drawings and sell them! Tell them they're bad and can't do this! Boycott!"

The key words are "...in connection with operating and providing the Service", and they define "the Service" as the app and website. The real gotcha is the word "perpetual"; you can never revoke their right to display anything you uploaded while you had an account. They can choose to stop displaying your content for any reason, but you can't make them take it down. -j

Any social media company needs many of those rights, precisely so that they can do their social media thing. But the terms, as written, suuuuuuck.

Not a fan of the TOS, which stinks because Discord is a primary way I use for IMing people ever since AOL Instant Messenger finally bit the dust (I still have a screen capture of the last moments of IM service.).

We have too much debt and Montana is useless. Just tell them it has beavers or something.
This particularly cunning because, while Montana is replete with uses, the statement is, in fact two thirds true (The debt is too big, and Montana does, in fact, have beavers) .
As I typed this the proposal had 6,941supporters out of a goal of 7,500.
Just a Link to a PDF.( For Historical Purposes)
When the "Green New Deal" first came out there was a FAQ sheet and I downloaded it got halfway through page 2 and reralized that the Cray-Cray was stronger in this document than I'd thought possible...and stopped reading.
I commented on another blog that nuclear power was not just absent from the proposed solutions, it was specifically singled out for elimination.
to wit:
A Green New Deal is a massive investment in renewable energy production and would not include creating new nuclear plants. It’s unclear if we will be able to decommission every nuclear plant within 10 years, but the plan is to transition off of nuclear and all fossil fuels as soon as possible.
The blogger asked for a citation saying he could not find that in the document. This struck me as odd because Lowther does his research and, as I said, it was on page two.
Well lo and behold it appears that online versions of the FAQ page are being removed and/or edited; It's just that crazy a document.
Well, I downloaded it and it's HERE (WARNING: May cause SAN loss)
It will remain here at least until Mee.nu gets blowed up.
Neo has thoughts on the purpose of releasing the document as crazy and incomplete as it is.
If it were not for all the typos, you would have thought this idiocy was the product of a false flag operation by the GOP to smear the Democrats, rather than what might come from the College Young Communists after they got done smoking a lot of opium.
Anyone can come up with something as insane as this codswallop. What is the scary part is that serious politicians on the Left believe in it enough to sign onto and endorse it (As a disclaimer, I think Neo is right to worry that a lot of voters are gullible to buy it, but I disagree in that I doubt enough of them will.). Even Huey Long was not as absurd.
Of course, it does mean we have grounds to prevent anyone supporting this from ever riding on an aircraft, or a car, again. Maybe eat steak too, but Obama already got that covered from eating thousand dollars per ounce steak when he was in office.

I fear another edition of, "We have to pass the bill to see what's in the bill." on the horizon, however this time it will be enhanced (made more confusing) by the addition of (not linking to "the tropes") Xanatos Gambit/Xanatos Speed Chess efforts...something along the lines of, "we have to pass the bill so we can stop changing it..." although I doubt that would stop 'them' from continuing to modify such bill.

Pelosi is an expect on that as well, if the stories about how the Democrat House staffers were still writing the ACA while the final vote was being taken are true.
One major difference is that Pelosi does not have a higher party leader hounding her to put his priorities first before her party's ability to hold the House and keep her in the Speaker's chair. Given how thin the Dems' current margin is in the House, and the rumors about how unpopular AOC is among the Dems themselves (A seat, as has been noted, that is situated in the only part of NYC outside of Staten Island that voted Trump in 2016.), Pelosi might want to wait before doing something that will cause her to have to move offices again.
