Anime Dub Reviews
In a world...
...where certain fans believe that anyone who dubs anime is commiting a crime against humanity and anyone who listens to the dubs is a racist, homophobic, troglodyte who hates unicorns.....
...one brave man...
...has dared to buck the pretentious prima-donnas and give thoughtful, well researched and literate reviews and analysis of the English dubs of the Western Anime releases.
John Turner is that man.
UPDATE: Actually it appears to be a group blog and John Turner is but one of three brave souls standing in defense of the notion that dubs are legitimate and enjoyable interpretations.

Thank you so much for the kind words about my website. I really feel that dubs deserve a far better reputation in general. While I understand you disagree about the "brick muppet" line, I'm at least glad you understand that this is my opinion alone.
Anyway, thanks again. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks for posting this. I've always liked having a good dub, as I prefer spending my viewing time looking at the pretty pictures. On the other hand, I have found some dubs that were completely un-listenable; and not understanding very much Japanese gives me a certain degree of interpretive freedom while listening to the original voice track.
Beyond that, I do respect the efforts that some R1 license-holders have made to produce quality interpretations, and a review site of such is very welcome.

I do not like dubs; probably a result of my exposure to dubbed anime back in the bad old days. That doesn't mean I think that dubs are illegitimate, it just means I don't listen to them. I think a website like Jon's could, if things go right, mean a lot towards the improvement of dubbed shows in general.
I still won't listen to 'em, though.

Subs of course help me practice my Japanese, however, a few shows, like Spice and Wolf really need to be watched dubbed.
