"Shall We Take a Train to the Moon ?"

One of The Brickmuppet's Crack Team of Science Babes notes that a bullet train will take 50 days, if it's no faster than an E-6.

I honestly never thought that Galaxy Railways might intersect with plausible space development in any meaningful way.

Now you may ask yourself, "What the hell is this all about?"

Well, this...

Better than a space elevator and doable with current tech.

With regards to the mention of walking it, assuming an average pace of 3.1 mph and walking 12 hrs a day, it would take a tad over 17 and a half years to walk between here and  there via the 2 rings and three tethers. But the view would be awesome, and such silly exercises in whimsy don't touch the incredible potential of just one or two far more modest versions of these things in the upper atmosphere.

It's an infrastructure project that gets you halfway to anywhere.

1 I find Isaac Arthur's YouTube videos to be entertaining and thought provoking.  However, I think there's a much larger gap between "does not appear to violate the laws of physics" and "we know how to do this today" than he does.
