Steve
Jobs just died.
Professor Jacobson has
thoughts on Jobs who had just recently retired from Apple. Ars
Technica has an obituary.
Jobs
really changed the world and ultimately for the better.
Few people remember what a change this was....
He was only 56.
His short time amongst us was not certainly wasted.
UPDATE: XKCD

"There’s always the hope that if you sit and watch long enough, the beachball will vanish and the thing it interrupted will return."

Yeah, it's a damn shame. I don't agree with all of the business decisions he made, but he had vision - and he made it work.
Look at Apple and HP 20 years ago, and today, to see how much that matters. HP has been plagued with CEOs with anti-vision. So was Apple before Jobs' return.

As an Apple user i'M certainly not happy about his 'walled garden' ideas, but wow....just....wow. Ford, Edison, Carver, Fulton....that's how big he was.
