Long Range Interceptor




The  Coast Guard's new Long Range Interceptor on sea trials.
They will be operated as daughter craft from larger Coast Guard Cutters.

1 Is it deliberate that there are no weapon mounts? I'd expect a mount on top for a .50. Or will they rely solely on carried weapons?

I'm sure it is deliberate...the USCG is not going to forget or misplace weapons. Who do you think we are...the Air Force?

But seriously, it looks like there are empty pintle mounts for crew served weapons fore and aft. No idea what caliber they might be if that is indeed what they are.

4 I see what you mean, and I'm sure those are gun mounts. I was looking for one on top of the cabin, but if the ship is swerving maybe that's not such a good place to be standing.
