I can't figure out the katakana at the end. ストーソ? ストーン? And what does it mean?

2 I stared at that...and stared at that...and I came to the conclusion that the root word is not English. (Sutooon?)

Part of my problem is that I can't tell what the last character is. But if you interpret it to be "n" then that would be the English word "stone".

But why would that be on the sign?

4 Help is on the way, with Katakana, but I don't know why "stone" either.
